A Program for Teacher Education for Kindergarten Teachers in the Bedouin Sector

This is a program of teacher education for kindergarten teachers, for children ages 0-6. The students come from both recognized  and unrecognized villages from all over the Negev.

The program has two models which allow students to realize their potential and to take in what is learned.

The first model is called The Big Sister model. In this model, two students, a second-year student and a third-year student, do practice teaching together in kindergartens on the basis of joint teaching and experience a tutor-tutee relationship.

The second model, the Professional Development School model, was implemented in the town of Hura. In this model, the students are active in both the micro level (kindergarten) and the macro level (the town's kindergarten system). Students learn to make connections and cultivate cooperation with colleagues in the community. The community of kindergarten teachers in the town becomes a learning-research community
