Mental Breakdown

The Council for the Welfare of the Child published its annual report this week, which raises alarming data on the difficult price that children are paying in the wake of the social crisis created by the Corona epidemic.

The corona has claimed many victims, led to a major economic crisis and this week we also received further reinforcement for the severe mental crisis that the corona and closures bring with it. The Council for the Welfare of the Child submitted its annual report this week – "Yearbook for Children in Israel 2020". The report makes extensive reference to data that came in the wake of the corona and affected children and youth in Israel. Among other things, the data indicate a 40% increase in the number of children at risk of suicide treated by educational psychologists, according to two more reports of violence against children, an increase in online sexual harassment, and an increase in inquiries due to loneliness, academic difficulties, anxiety and emotional distress.
